Ministers

Austin Carty

Pastor


Austin Carty joined Boulevard Baptist Church from First Baptist Church of Corbin, KY in 2019. Austin holds an undergraduate degree in literature from High Point University (B.A.), a Master of Divinity (M.Div) from Wake Forest University, and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) from Emory University. He is the author of The Pastor's Bookshelf: Why Reading Matters for Ministry, which received the 2023 Christianity Today Award of Merit and was named the Book of the Year by Preaching magazine.

Austin is married to April and together they have four children, Ada, Julianna, Witt, and Ben.

Lucy Cauthen

Minister of Youth and Missions


Lucy Cauthen joined Boulevard Baptist Church from First Baptist Roswell as the Minister of Youth and Missions. Lucy holds a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mercer University (B.S) along with a degree in divinity from Baylor University (M.Div.).

Her passion for science led her to a passion for people as she was called to ministry. She is married to Jonathan and together they have a daughter, Eloise.


James Bennett

Minister of Music


James received a bachelors degree in music education from Baylor University and a masters degree in church music with an emphasis in music education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition, he has studied conducting under James Jordan and Rodney Eichenerger at Westminster Choir College and Judy Clurman at The Juilliard School. James has earned Kodaly Certification from Winthrop University and has studied the Dalcroze method under Robert Abramson at The Juilliard School.

Anna Kate Stephenson

Minister to Children and Community


Anna Kate Stephenson joins Boulevard Baptist Church from First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, SC as the Minister to Children and Community. Anna Kate holds a degree in psychology and religion from Berry College (B.S.) along with a degree in divinity from Mercer University (M.Div.).

A love for the church led her to a passion for faith formation and pastoral care for children. She is married to Zeke and together they have a daughter, Ellis. 


Administration

Rebecca Smith

Business Administrator


Rebecca joined our staff in 2014 as the Financial Secretary. In late 2018 she became our Business Administrator. She retired after 34 years serving as a Medical Technologist, Biomedical Engineer and Information Technology Professional.

Patricia West

Administrative Assistant


Patricia joined our team in June 2020, as Administrative Assistant. She retired after 28.5 years of serving our state as a Training Coordinator. Patricia is the proud mother of two sons and grandmother of two granddaughters.

Cathy Minarovich

Custodian


Cathy joined Boulevard's staff in 2019 and  brings a happy face and warm smile to our church.

David Harris

Custodian



David joined Boulevard's staff in 2021. He is a retired physical therapist and is the pastor of Zion Pentecostal Holiness Church in Anderson.

Musicians

Ron Davis

Organist


Dr. Ron Davis serves as organist and hand bell director at Boulevard Baptist Church. He is Professor Emeritus of Presbyterian College where he was Director of Studies in Music Theory, Sacred Music, and Chair of the Department of Music. He also taught organ, voice, composition, and occasionally harpsichord. He has been active in the American Guild of Organists and Handbell Musicians of America for over 30 years.

Ron received degrees from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkansas, (Bachelor of Music), University of Kansas (Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts), and studied additional graduate and post-doctoral courses at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX.

Dr. Davis has been heard in organ performances throughout the US and Great Britain, including a solo performance at Westminster Abbey, London. He has also been heard recently as tenor soloist with the Augusta Choral Society's performance of Handel's Messiah and Greenville Light Opera Works' productions of Amahl and the Night Visitors.

In addition to his responsibilities at Boulevard, he is adjunct instructor of music at Anderson University where he teaches organ and accompanies the Women's Choir.

Anda Mobley

Music Associate/Pianist


Anda has been a vital part of our music ministry since 2015 by serving in various musical and leadership capacities. She plays in Sunday worship services, directs various choirs, and sings in others. She holds a MA in Music Education from Georgia Southern. Anda is married to Mike and they have two sons, Jackson and Michael. The Mobley family recently welcomed their first grandchild, a little girl named Brooke Elaine Mobley.
